Big 12 basketball fans can start preparing for the 2018 Big 12-SEC Challenge. The two conferences and programs involved announced the plans for next season.

2018 Big 12/SEC Challenge

Games on Saturday, Jan. 27; Time/TV to be announced

Baylor at Florida

Tennessee at Iowa State

Texas A&M at Kansas

Georgia at Kansas State

Oklahoma at Alabama

Oklahoma State at Arkansas

TCU at Vanderbilt

Mississippi at Texas

Texas Tech at South Carolina

Kentucky at West Virginia

The Big 12 has gotten the best of the SEC since the Challenge began, going 25-15 in the event’s four seasons. But last season, the conference split 10 games.

Since there is an imbalance between number of teams in each conference, the SEC leaves the bottom four teams in last season’s standings out of the Challenge. Unfortunately that includes Missouri, who landed No. 1 recruit Michael Porter.

It’s the third consecutive season the challenge will take place on the same day, and you can watch the 10 games on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU on January 27, 2018.

Even though this event comes in the middle of conference play, I always find the Big 12-SEC Challenge to be a nice way to break up the monotony of conference play and mixes things up for the fans and players.
