Baylor strength coach Brandon Washington was arrested in a prostitution sting early on Saturday morning. According to the Waco Tribune-HeraldWashington has been fired by the University.

Washington was arrested at a hotel on a solicitation of prostitution charge on Saturday.

Officers reportedly arrested Washington shortly after 12 a.m. after the strength coach arrived at the hotel to meet a prostitute.

Washington was released from the McLennan County Jail on Saturday after posting $1,000 bond.

The University released a statement reading, “After a full criminal background check was completed and cleared, Brandon Washington was recently hired as an assistant in the Football Strength and Conditioning area. Baylor was notified on February 4 of Brandon Washington’s arrest and terminated his employment immediately that day.”

New head coach Matt Rhule also released a statement saying, “When we arrived at Baylor we made a commitment to character and integrity in our program. Brandon’s actions are completely unacceptable. We will not tolerate conduct that is contradictory to these values.”

If convicted for the Class B misdemeanor, Brandon Washington faces a maximum sentence of 180 days in jail and/or a fine of no more than $2,000.

The former strength coach worked under Rhule at Temple during the 2016 season. He was brought on board when Rhule took the job at Baylor.

Washington’s arrest doesn’t come at a good time for Baylor. The University is still trying to rebuild its image and looking to turn the corner from the sexual assault scandal that has plagued the University for a year and a half.

Also, this comes less than a week after Rhule and his staff closed strong on National Signing Day, ending with a class ranked by many recruiting services as being in the Top 30 nationally.
