Sure, Friday nights are typically all about, “Clear Eyes. Full Hearts. Can’t lose!” But, it also continues to become a more popular slot for college (to maximize TV viewers, revenues).

There are 56 Friday games this fall, up from 52 in each of the past two years.

Every conference has at least one team playing on Friday, and there are several games that could shape the landscape of the College Football Playoff.

Here’s the Friday Big 12 schedule:

Week 1: Sept 2

Northwestern State at Baylor – 7:30 p.m. (TV TBA)
Kansas State at Stanford – 9 p.m. (FS1)

Week 3: Sept 16

Baylor at Rice – 8 p.m. ESPN

Week 4: Sept 23

TCU at SMU – 8 p.m. (ESPN)

Week 13: November 25

TCU at Texas – 3:30 p.m. (TV TBA)
Baylor at Texas Tech – 6 p.m. (ESPN)

On to Thursday…

There are 32 Thursday games between FBS schools this year, down from 36 a year ago. Including FCS opponents, there are 41 Thursday FBS games total. The Big 12 is the only team without a Thursday night game on Week 1, likely because they have two Friday night games that week. Anyway…

Here’s the (light) Thursday Big 12 schedule:

Week 5: Sept 29

Kansas at Texas Tech – 8:30 p.m. (TV TBA)

Week 10: Nov 3

Oklahoma at Iowa State – 7:30 p.m. (ESPN/WatchESPN.com)
