joe mixon police interview

As the Joe Mixon drama continues in Norman, a new report unveiled that the Oklahoma running back told Norman police in 2014 that “it felt like a dude hit me” when Amelia Molitor slapped him at a local cafe.

The Oklahoman found the statements Mixon made to police shortly after the incident took place.

Also, the racial slur that was being used as a defense of Mixon has turned out to not be true, at least according to what Mixon said initially after the incident. The running back said he heard a racial slur from Molitor’s male friend, but not from Molitor. Then, Mixon admitted that he responded with a homophobic slur at the male friend.

Mixon said in the video, “The gay dude … he called me something. He was like (slur). So then I was like, you got me messed up. And then I called him a (slur). And after that, the girl, she dropped her purse, that’s when she came in my face, pushed me, and then my glasses came off, and then, like, I had, like, jumped at her, like, to watch out. And then she came in my face. I put my head down. And she swung on me. And after that, like, I was so shocked, because she hit me so hard. It felt like a dude hit me. And after that, like, my face went boom, my reaction was just right there.”

Mixon then added, “And after that, like, I was so shocked, because she hit me so hard. It felt like a dude hit me. And after that, like, my face went boom, my reaction was just right there.”

The video of the initial police interview can be see below, it is over one hour long:

Last Friday, the public was able to watch the video of the altercation between Moiltor and Mixon. The Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters had sued the city of Norman and the Cleveland County district attorney, seeking release of the punch video.

In response to this most recent video, one of Mixon’s attorneys, Kevin Finlay, criticized Cleveland County District Attorney Greg Mashburn for providing the surveillance videos to Molitor’s attorneys, telling The Oklahoman, “I think it was done because she’s politically connected. It has always shocked me. I can’t think of another case where that has occurred. He’s clearly aiding them in a civil suit.”
