Names like Josh Heupel, Chad Morris and even Mack Brown have been thrown around as possible candidates to replace June Jones at SMU.
And now, Major Applewhite is apparently in the mix. According to Kirk Bohls of the Austin-American Statesman, the former Texas co-offensive coordinator has applied to become the Ponies’ next coach. Bohls went on to say that Applewhite could not be reached for comment.
This would be a very interesting hire to say the least.
