Although Fox Sports 1 analyst Joey Harrington criticized OU defensive backs for playing too far off the wide receivers in No. 12 Baylor’s 48-14 rout of No. 15 Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon, he was being mild compared to FS1 studio analyst Joel Klatt.
At halftime of FS1’s West Virginia-Texas telecast, Klatt blasted OU’s gameplan and called it the worst performance he had ever seen by a Sooner defense.
“I just thought it was a terrible gameplan by Bob and Mike Stoops defensively,” said Klatt, a former Colorado quarterback. “Bryce Petty had all day to throw — no pressure. And there was no pressure being put on the wide receivers either. I think 90 percent of the high school quarterbacks in this country could have gone out and completed 50 percent of their passes on Oklahoma today. There were no defenders anyway near the wide receivers.”
