Bob Stoops was asked a simple question at his Monday news conference a few days after the Sooners’ first loss of the season.
Does quarterback Trevor Knight tend to stare down his receivers?
“I’m not going to say that,” Stoops said. “I’m not going to sit here and detail every guy, what we’re talking to them about.”
In watching some of Knight’s more egregious interceptions from this season, though, it becomes apparent that his eyes frequently give away where he’s going with the ball.
Baylor linebacker Bryce Hager said as much Saturday after the Bears’ 48-14 rout of the Sooners on Owen Field.
Oklahoma led 14-10 when Knight — while looking for tight end Blake Bell across the middle — was picked off by Hager, who returned the ball to the OU 1-yard line. The Bears scored to take the lead a play later.
