Bob Stoops stood at the podium on Monday during his weekly press conference, trying to provide answers for what the heck happened to his football team in Saturday’s 48-14 loss to Baylor.
But the answers Stoops gave were not the ones Sooner fans wanted to hear.
Stoops’ cavalier attitude toward OU fans’ reaction to the carnage — they booed loudly, they left early, and they nearly broke the Internet offering their displeasure — was at the forefront.
“So what?” Stoops said Saturday night.
But isn’t that the wrong thing to say to a disillusioned fan base, many of whom are being asked for donations from Stoops’ boss, athletic director Joe Castiglione, to help with a $370 million stadium expansion and renovation he just announced this past summer?
