It’s a cliche, but last week’s open date might, indeed, have come at a good time for Texas Tech.
The extra week might have been just long enough for Davis Webb to sufficiently recover from an ankle sprain and for Patrick Mahomes to be back to normal after a shot to the head.
“I hope they’ll both be back,” Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury said during the Red Raiders’ weekly Monday press luncheon. “We’ll see how it goes this week, but I hope to have them both available for the game on Saturday.”
Tech’s top quarterbacks each got hurt in the last two games, Webb in an Oct. 25 loss at TCU and Mahomes in a Nov. 1 loss to Texas. Both practiced Monday.
