One place Oklahoma doesn’t need to have injuries right now is on defense. But, on Saturday, OU opens Big 12 play without two defensive starters, defensive end Matt Dimon and inside linebacker Tay Evans. They will both miss Saturday’s game at TCU with injuries.
Head coach Bob Stoops said, “Some of the others are still working through some things but guys like [safety] Steven [Parker], who has been in all week, [linebacker] Jordan [Evans] has been in all week. They’ve been practicing.”
Dimon and Evans both suffered their injuries in OU’s 45-24 loss to Ohio State two weeks ago.
Meantime, defensive tackle Matt Romar is expected to play against the Horned Frogs. Romar missed the Ohio State game with an undisclosed injury.
Without Dimon, expect to see D.J. Ward or Austin Roberts at defensive end. As for Evans replacement, expect Emmanuel Beal to get the start.
