The Kansas football team will have to find a replacement along the defensive line.
According to the Lawrence Journal-World, KU dismissed sophomore defensive tackle D.J. Williams this week for a violation of team rules. The Jayhawks did not specify what the infraction was.
Williams played in four games this season for Kansas, making three solo tackles and one tackle for loss. Last season, Williams played in eight games and made 11 total tackles, along with a forced fumble.
At 6-foot-5, 302-pounds, the sophomore from Lufkin, Texas, was a three-star recruit brought in by Charlie Weis’ staff and reportedly had offers from other major programs including Oklahoma and Miami.
