A fire started at the Texas Tech practice facility at Jones AT&T Stadium around 5:30 PM on Wednesday afternoon. The fire was contained as of early Wednesday evening, but it set up a nerve-wracking few hours in Lubbock.
Texas Tech released a statement on Wednesday saying, “Late this afternoon a fire was reported at the construction site of the Sports Performance Center south of Jones AT&T Stadium. No injuries were reported and the small fire was contained. At this time, the cause and extent of damage is unknown. We will update once an investigation is completed.”
The cause of the fire at the Texas Tech practice facility is not yet known.
