With the 2017 NFL Draft rapidly approaching, a new report says Texas Tech QB Patrick Mahomes has done more official visits and private workouts than any other draft prospect.

If you’re surprised by this, you shouldn’t be.
First off, Mahomes plays the most important position in the sport. Outside of maybe 8-10 teams in the NFL, the rest are always considering their options at quarterback.
On top of that, Mahomes is one of the most intriguing quarterback prospects in years. He could either end his career as an all-timer or be a complete bust, while also possibly ending up somewhere in between. His incredible raw skill set (strong arm, mobility, professional athlete father pedigree) are offset by sketchy footwork at times and playing in an offense that is anything but your traditional pro-style attack.
Wilson, of the Houston Chronicle, reports that Mahomes’ most recent interview was with the Cincinnati Bengals, and that he excelled during recent workouts with the Saints and Cardinals.
The Saints and Cardinals are teams with veteran quarterbacks Drew Brees and Carson Palmer, and may be the perfect fit for Mahomes to learn under one of these two for the next year or two, before being ready to take over as starter.
But there have also been reports and mock drafts that list Mahomes as going as a high as No. 6 to the New York Jets. For Mahomes sake, I sure hope he doesn’t get stuck with Gang Green.
Regardless of where Mahomes ends up, it’s possibly to justify that he should’ve stayed at Texas Tech another season. It’s a weak quarterback class and the timing was right for Mahomes to make the jump to the NFL and see what happens.
Best of luck to him moving forward!
