5. The Defensive Line
Some people may consider losing your entire starting defensive lineman to be a bad thing, but when they ranked 116th in the country in rushing defense, who cares? This may be more of a blessing than a curse here. In the Midland scrimmage Texas Tech rolled out with starters Nick McCann and Houston Miller at DT while Lonzell Gilmore and Nelson Mbanasor were at DE. All of these guys except Gilmore don’t have any game experience at all. Mbanasor, McCann and Miller are all going to be freshman come this fall. Now this probably will not be the starting four when the season rolls around so expect to see a lot of change on the depth chart in this bunch. Keep an eye out for Joseph Wallace and Mychealon Thomas at DT to help fill in at defensive tackle as well. This is a group where all of the starting positions will be up for grabs.
