2. Jacob Park’s progress
There were times last season when I wasn’t sure whether or not Jacob Park was the answer at quarterback. But in reality, he was quite rusty after not seeing any real game action since high school. As the season moved along, Park looked more comfortable, and it became clear as the season wrapped up, that Matt Campbell had his starting quarterback.
So with one season under his belt and a full set of winter workouts and spring practice, how much smoother and more comfortable does Park look? In last Saturday’s scrimmage, offensive coordinator Tom Manning cited his happiness with the fact that his unit had no turnovers. That’s a solid starting point for Park.
Now, let’s see how he’s starting to gel in Year 2 with Allen Lazard and Deshaunte Jones, along with David Montgomery in the backfield, at the Iowa State spring game.
