TCU Spring Game Preview: 5 Things to Watch

After months of winter conditioning and workouts, spring time is upon us. The grass is getting greener and the sun is getting hotter, which can only mean one thing, football is back! (Well, sort of) Spring football is in full effect in Big 12 country and the TCU spring game is coming up this weekend as Gary Patterson’s team looks to bounce back from a mediocre 2016. The Horned Frogs had a down year finishing 6-7, so Patterson is looking to start fresh in 2017 to get things back on track.

The TCU spring game will take place at 11 AM CT on Saturday at Amon G Carter Stadium in Ft. Worth, Texas. To my knowledge this game will not be televised but no worries football fans, we here at Heartland College Sports have you covered! So without further do, here are the five things to watch for on Saturday.

1. Quarterback Kenny Hill

I would be surprised if most TCU fans still had most of their hair after watching a full season of Kenny Hill. Hill’s play last season was like wild roller coaster ride at the county fair after you ate two corndogs. There were ups, downs and sometimes it made you feel a bit nauseous. This is a football team that has the pieces to contend for a Big 12 championship IF they can get consistent play at the quarterback position. If the good Kenny shows up then this team will go far but if the bad Kenny shows up then the Horned Frogs could be staring at another 6-6 type season. The only problem is nobody in the world knows which Kenny Hill will show up for the 2017 season. The TCU spring game could go a long way to making fans feel at ease over the summer months.
