Colin Cowherd has OK State as CFB Playoff dark horse

With spring games in full swing these past couple of weekends, it’s a time for pundits and fans alike to start thinking past the summer and into the fall of 2017 and envisioning another excellent college football season. Well, Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd took to his show Monday morning to say he believes Oklahoma State will make the College Football Playoff in 2018.

Cowherd explained how he was at USC’s spring practice over the weekend and went on to profess his love for the Trojans (although how many times have we heard that about USC?). He then said he thinks Florida State is the best team in the country.

He added, “My four teams that I really like this year are Florida State, Alabama, USC, and I’m going to throw a dark horse at you, Oklahoma State.”

Colin Cowherd explained his love for Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State, but admitted the fact that they all play each other will likely keep the Big Ten out of the playoff.

As we’ve discussed, I’m on board with Cowherd and love what Oklahoma State can potentially do this fall. This is another example of why ESPN’s FPI rankings made ZERO sense giving Oklahoma State a 4.2% chance to win the Big 12, behind Oklahoma, TCU and Texas.

As the season inches closer and national pundits start digging further into the Pokes, there’s no doubt in my mind that Oklahoma State will start becoming an even trendier and sexier pick to win the Big 12 and to make a serious run at a College Football Playoff.

The toughest part for Gundy & Co.? Potentially having to beat Bob Stoops twice in a season.
