The final two Big 12 spring games take place this weekend. The Baylor Bears are one of the more fascinating teams in the Big 12. Matt Rhule is the new sheriff in town and with him comes a new style of play, along with a new playbook and personnel. Here are five things to keep an eye on in the Baylor spring game on Saturday.
1. Offensive changes
John Werner of The Waco Tribune wrote a great piece this week on how the Baylor offense will actually have a playbook for the first time in 10 years.
Werner wrote:
Baylor’s offensive playbook is still a work in progress and bound to get thicker since new co-offensive coordinators Jeff Nixon and Glenn Thomas are combining elements of the spread and pro-style offenses.
It will be fun to see what elements of each is used in the Baylor spring game. Also, is it more of a spread? Or more pro-style offense? What’s the balance like? There are plenty of questions about how this offense will look, and while we surely won’t get all, or even most, of the answers on Saturday, just getting a glimpse will be fun for Baylor fans.
