5. Defensive Line
Jordan Willis is off to the NFL and and top defensive tackle Will Geary has been missing from spring practice for unknown reasons. But Reggie Walker is looking to build on a freshman All-American season. Considering the offensive line is so banged up, Walker should have himself a day as we continue to watch his growth and development.
None of the defensive linemen in the 2017 recruiting class are JUCO transfers, so those freshmen won’t be in town until the summer. That leaves some guys who have been around the program a chance to find themselves in the rotation more often.
Ray Price played sparing last season and at 6’2”, 290 will look to get more playing time in his senior season. Rising sophomore Kyle Ball is expected to compete for a starting spot this season, while Trey Dishon should see a lot more time in the middle of the defensive line after Athlon named him a second-team All-American in 2016.
