Big 12 baseball tournament preview podcast

big 12 baseball tournament

This week, Heartland College Sports baseball expert Cameron Brock steps into the podcast world and previews the upcoming Big 12 baseball tournament that gets underway this week.

One team’s season is already finished after Kansas State failed to qualify for the Big 12 Tournament. Two others have to win the conference tournament in order to snatch the conference’s automatic bid. After having a pathetic pre-conference season, Kansas could not muster up enough quality wins to remain on the bubble. Meanwhile, Oklahoma State is on the brink of going under .500 and being ineligible for a regional berth.

The other six teams should be locks, but Texas would like to make some noise to A) ensure they are in and B) help solidify their case for a second seed.
West Virginia and Baylor are likely out of the hosting mix, but need to build confidence heading into Selection Monday. As for Oklahoma, the Sooners will virtually need to win the conference tourney to host a regional.

As for what motivates Texas Tech and TCU after locking up national seeds? Well, they may or may not be facing Oregon State in bracket play at the College World Series.

Who will win? What will it take for your team to hoist the trophy up at the Big 12 baseball tournament?

Find out this and more on a special edition of the Heartland College Sports Podcast hosted by HCS baseball guru Cameron Brock.
