In a disappointing offseason twist for TCU, cornerback Deshawn Raymond announced on Twitter his decision to transfer from the program.

The rising junior was a 4-star player out of East Jefferson High in Metairie, Louisiana. According to 247 Sports, Raymond was a top 30 cornerback and top 300 player overall.

He chose TCU over offers from Oklahoma State, LSU, Nebraska, Mississippi State and Arkansas.

Injuring had hampered Deshawn Raymond throughout his tenure in Fort Worth. He played in 11 games as a freshman in 2015, when he made 5 special teams tackles. But he missed last season with various injuries.

So with Raymond looking to bounce back from an injury-riddled season, playing time was not going to come easy. TCU signed a pair of top cornerback recruits in Michael Onyemaobi, a 3-star prospect who chose TCU over Nebraska, along with Noah Daniels, who was a 3-star player as well with offers from Oklahoma, Notre Dame and Utah. Then there is the return of Ranthony Texada, along with Julius Lewis and Jeff Gladney.

We wish Raymond all the best in wherever he ends up playing next.
