Texas Tech’s Byron Hanspard on family, faith and education

Byron Hanspard

When chatting with the Texas Tech Red Raiders’s all-time leading rusher Byron Hanspard, there are three things this man cares deeply about: his faith, his family and education.

After he notoriously stopped  attending classes in his final year with the Red Raiders, he is now a man headed for a Master’s degree. Also, Hanspard Sr graduated with Honors, 3.72 GPA, Magna Cum Laude, May 14, 2016 with his Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership from Texas A&M- Commerce.

He is still heavily involved with ministry work as he guides many folks throughout his community. His other big priority is his family, with his two oldest boys standout high school football players in DeSoto, Texas and will be playing at the next level.

Byron Hanspard discussed his time at Texas Tech and what his relationship, or lackthereof, is with the game of college football right now. His focus remains on his family, kids, education and ministry. We also got into Hanspard’s NFL career and whether or not he has any regrets when he looks backs on his time in the league.
