With the game scoreless in the first quarter, West Virginia quarterback Will Grier tried to run for a touchdown, but as he dove to the end zone he lost the ball and then dislocated his middle middle on his right (throwing) hand.
It was about as nasty as it gets. Grier’s reaction, or lack thereof, was pretty bad ass. He was unfazed.

Naturally, Twitter went bonkers and here were some of the best tweets of the day.

Now, Will Grier can’t even show people what West Virginia looks like using his right hand.
Or…we now have to get rid of the northern panhandle. Not a total loss. #WVU

Will Grier just walked off the field with a sideways finger and shook it off like it was no big deal. 🐐🤷🏻♂️ pic.twitter.com/OAII60z0Io

Just saw a shot of Will Grier’s finger. If my finger looked like that, I’d have just run out of the stadium screaming. pic.twitter.com/kXcqOg5fqx

The only angles worse than Will Grier’s finger are the ones WVU defenders took chasing Ehlinger on that run.

As you would expect, it was announced later in the game Grier would miss the rest of the afternoon against Texas. Hopefully he’s back for next week against Oklahoma.
