Kenny Hill: To me, Baker Mayfield is the Heisman
One person who’s a fan of Baker Mayfield winning the Heisman Trophy is TCU quarterback Kenny Hill.
“He looks like one of the best in college football, so to me he’s the Heisman,” Hill said following TCU’s 41-17 loss to Oklahoma in the Big 12 championship game.
TCU lost for the second time this season to the Sooners. Mayfield finished the game 15/23 for 243 yards and four touchdowns, plus six carries for 65 yards. In two games against TCU this season, Mayfield threw for 776 yards, seven touchdowns and zero interceptions against one of the best defenses in the country and the best in the Big 12 conference.
Hill finishes his career 0-3 against Mayfield and the Sooners. OU slid by TCU 52-46 last season, but this year, the Sooners won their two games over the Horned Frogs by a combined 42 points.
While Mayfield is likely to go to New York City and win the Heisman Trophy next week, he’s not without some critics, who have questioned his character following an offseason public intoxication arrest and in-season events such as plating the flag at Ohio State and his crotch grab against Kansas.
Oklahoma now awaits its seeding in the College Football Playoff on Sunday.
