Big 12 Recruiting

Iowa State Cyclones chasing down 3-Star ATH Tayvonn Kyle

Tayvonn Kyle

On Wednesday night, I got the chance to speak with Tayvonn Kyle out of Valdosta, GA (Lowndes HS). According to 247Sports, Tayvonn is rated as a 3-star prospect and holds a total of 14 offers (two from Big 12 schools). So here is my chat with Tayvonn about his recruitment and it appears that Iowa State that will battle it out along with a few others for his signature. Who are they? Find out right here in this interview.

HCS: Which schools are recruiting you the hardest?

Kyle: “Georgia State, Iowa State, UCF and ECU.”

HCS: Which of those schools have you visited?

Kyle: “I have only been on an unofficial visit to Georgia State.”

HCS: What schools will you be visiting in the next few weeks?

Kyle: “I will visit Iowa State this weekend and then UCF the first weekend in February. I don’t know where I will be going on the 26th for sure yet.”

HCS: What are your thoughts about Iowa State and the coaching staff there?

Kyle:“Seems like it’s a great program on the come up and looking to have some great seasons ahead. The coaching staff that I’ve communicated with seems to be a compatible bunch of family oriented people that know how to get players to the next level.”

HCS: Since you are listed as an athlete, what position will you play at the next level?

Kyle: “Most teams have recruited me as a receiver, but some have mentioned me playing a little DB also.”

HCS: Where does Iowa State want to play you at?

Kyle: “Wide Receiver.”

HCS: What has been the biggest surprise in your recruitment? Has there been a memorable moment that really stuck out to you?

Kyle: “I think it was when Maryland offered me because that was my second offer and when I caught my first ball for a West Virginia coach after killing the DB on a stop and go.”

HCS: When will you announce your commitment?

Kyle: “It’s looking like signing day. My plan right now is to visit all the way up to the first weekend in February so I’m going to need that time to think it over.”
