Kansas State WR Byron Pringle receives NFL combine invite

Kansas State wide receiver Byron Pringle is getting the opportunity he’s been hoping for: a trip to the 2018 NFL combine. The news was reported by Terez Paylor of the Kansas City Star.

Pringle surprised some when he announced he would be skipping his senior season to enter the 2018 NFL Draft. Pringle had a good, but at times inconsistent, 2017 season, leading the Wildcats with 724 receiving yards and was second on the team with 30 receptions. He averaged a team-best 24.1 yards per reception (for players with at least 6 receptions) and his six receiving touchdowns were a team high. Pringle also ranked third in the Big 12 at 26.1 yards per kick return.

Pringle’s best game this season came in a stunning 45-40 win over Oklahoma State in Stillwater in which the wide receiver had four catches for 166 yards, including three touchdown grabs.

Pringle participated in the Senior Bowl game and the week leading up to it, capping the week off with one catch for nine yards on Saturday.

The NFL Scouting Combine will take place from February 27th through March 5th in Indianapolis.
