With TCU’s season coming to a crushing end on Sunday, the reports are still floating that head coach Jim Schlossnagle is strongly considering leaving Fort Worth to become the next head coach at Mississippi State.
Kendall Rogers of D1Baseball.com has been continuing to report on this front.
Yes, Schlossnagle is strongly considering going to Miss State. No, an offer has not been made and a hire isn’t imminent. http://t.co/hntf22W6uw

On Sunday evening Schlossnagle said, “I love Fort Worth, I love TCU. If they call me, we’ll see what they have to say. I’ve shown my loyalty to TCU over and over for 15 years and TCU and Fort Worth have been incredible to my family.”
Money does not appear to be a driving factor here, as Schlossnagle makes $1.5 million per year, making him one of the highest-paid coaches in the sport.
Schlossnagle could be looking for a change of pace from a place he’s won 645 games and has reached five College World Series.
This could be another sign that stars Luken Baker and Jared Janczak could be planning to sign and take their talents to the next level.
The SEC is considered a slightly better baseball conference than the Big 12, but the two conferences rank first and second respectively in conference ratings percentage index rankings.
