One of the most anticipated games of the opening weekend, and one of the most anticipated Big 12 non-conference match ups has had its kick off time announced. West Virginia vs. Tennessee at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina will get underway at 3:30 E.T. on Saturday, September 1st.

The Volunteers are starting a new regime with new head coach Jeremy Pruitt, who was most recently the defensive coordinator at Alabama. Pruitt replaces Butch Jones, who was fired following a miserable season that saw Tennessee go 4-8 last season. Jones never reached expectations, winning 9 games twice in 2015 and 2016, before falling off the cliff last season.
The Mountaineers are coming off a 7-win season, but have big expectations heading into this season. Will Grier is a Heisman favorite, but WVU only has the fourth-best odds in the Big 12 to win the conference.
The WVU defense has also been coming together this offseason with a few key transfers coming to town, which should be a welcomed addition to a team that should not have any trouble scoring points this fall. With these kick off times being announced, the closer we are to getting to the first Saturday in September!
