It’s the time of year to place your preseason bets… and typically, there’s lots of money on the blue bloods. The latest numbers have come out and in the Big 12, the Oklahoma Sooners have the best odds to win the National Championship at 25/1. Next up, it’s the Texas Longhorns at 30/1.
This is a far cry from where the top odds are in the country with the Alabama Crimson Tide, who have 9/5 odds to repeat as National Champs.
Clemson, OhioSt 5/1
Auburn, Wisconsin 20/1
OU, PennSt 25/1
FSU, Miami, Notre Dame, Texas 30/1
MIchSt, USC 40/1
LSU, Virginia Tech, WVU 60/1
MissState, Texas A&M 80/1

The only other Big 12 team to make the list is the West Virginia Mountaineers at 60/1. WVU may have one of, if not the, most explosive offenses in the country, but it looks like folks are still having question marks about the defense and whether or not Dana Holgorsen is a legitimate championship-caliber coach. The jury is still out.
Michigan at 12/1 is comical. Has their been a bigger disappointment in the past couple of seasons than Jim Harbaugh? The guy can’t win a rivalry game to save his life!
Anyway, Oklahoma’s 25/1 odds means that Vegas does not like the Big 12’s chances to make the College Football Playoff, as every other conference has a team with at least 15/1 odds to win it all.
