New Odds Name David Beaty, Kliff Kingsbury Among Coaches Likely to be Fired First

With the college football season less than three weeks away, odds makers are already betting on who is going to be the first head coach fired. With investigations swirling at Ohio State and Maryland, naturally, the top of the list is not a shocker. But there are two Big 12 coaches who find themselves near the top of the list.

Incase you’re curious, Montgomery is Scottie Montgomery, the head coach at East Carolina, who has a 6-18 record during his time there. Then there’s Lovie Smith at Illinois, who is followed by the trio of Kliff Kingsbury, Ed Orgeron at LSU, and Brad Lambert at Charlotte.
Certainly this is not where either coach wants to be, but we’ve talked with both coaches about the reality that they are on the proverbial “hot seat”. Here is what David Beaty has had to say about this and then what Kliff Kingsbury has discussed about the topic.
