2018 Big 12 Championship Game Breaks 1992 SEC Championship Attendance Record

Big 12 football

The 2018 Big 12 Championship Game broke a college football record on Saturday with the most-attended conference championship game ever with 83,114 fans showing up to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas to see the Oklahoma Sooners take on the Texas Longhorns.

When we discuss conferences on the brink of being destroy, how can anyone make the argument that as of December 2018 that conference is the Big 12? Look at the embarrassment that was Levi’s Stadium on Friday night for the Pac-12 Championship Game between Utah and Washington. Granted, neither team has a chance of reaching the College Football Playoff, but this showing is inexcusable.

Add to that the fact that the Pac-12 Network was dropped by AT&T and it was generally a very disappointing week for that conference. Yet, there are still some folks, notably some Texas fans, who are actually vouching for the Longhorns to head out west. Why?

Look at how great this atmosphere is in Arlington, which need we remind UT fans, is all of three hours up the road?
