Jayhawks Remain in The Mix For 3-Star ATH Dariyan Wiley

On Monday night, I got the chance to speak with 3-Star Athlete Dariyan Wiley (6’3”, 200 lbs.) out of Douglasville, Georgia (Douglas County HS). As of right now, Dariyan holds a total of twenty-five offers, including one from Kansas. Here is my chat with Dariyan about his recruitment and it appears that the Jayhawks will battle it out along with a few others for his commitment.
HCS: You are listed as an athlete. What position are coaches wanting you to play at the next level?
Dariyan: “Most schools want me to play receiver but some like my size and want me to play defensive back.”
HCS: Which do you prefer to play?
Dariyan: “I don’t have a preference, I just want an education.”
HCS: It’s not often I get that answer. What do you want to go to school for and what do you want to be when you get out of school?
Dariyan: “Premed and neurosurgeon.”
HCS: Do you have a list of top schools right now?
Dariyan: “I actually don’t, I am 100% open.”
HCS: What are your thoughts on Kansas Head Coach Les Miles?
Dariyan: “He knows how to win.”
HCS: Kansas is one of your few power five offers. Does that matter to you when you compare it to other schools that have offered you?
Dariyan: “No because I have independent schools that can play for a natty and FBS school can get into a bowl game so it’s the same amount of exposure.”
HCS: Do you have an visits planned right now before your commitment?
Dariyan: “I will be going to UMass on the 25th as of right now.
HCS: Are you planning on announcing on NSD?
Dariyan: “Yes.”
