Did Texas A&M Hack the Baylor Twitter Account?

Baylor University

There I was, just minding my own business Saturday night soaking in some baseball and some delicious refreshments. I periodically check my phone because I am attached to it and see that there were plenty of people talking about Baylor on my Twitter feed. So, I go and see what all the fuss was about, and I came across this.

Wow. That was the first word that came out of my mouth when I saw that and here we are talking about it the next day. There are so many things wrong here that I don’t even know where to begin. I hate to knock a Big 12 school, but I can’t let this one go without saying something because I am known to run my mouth sometimes. First off, the Texas Bowl? Really? Only two teams play in that bowl and it only required the football team being 6-6 at the end of the season to play in that game. I understand the changes going on in Waco with Matt Rhule and it was a step in the right direction, but nobody is going to remember or talk about Baylor beating a 6-6 Vanderbilt team in the Texas Bowl. You want to brag about it? Fine but I (And many others) won’t take you seriously for something as mediocre as the Texas Bowl.

Ok, the Women’s basketball championship speaks for itself and they deserve all the credit in the world. What coach Kim Mulkey has been doing there has been nothing short of fantastic and kudos. Perhaps the biggest issue I have out of these four are the last two. HOW IN THE WORLD DO YOU SLAP A FINAL FOUR LOGO ON YOUR BASKETBALL TEAM THAT LOST IN THE ROUND OF 32? Did I miss something that the Baylor Twitter account person saw? Did they make it to the Final Four? Maybe they meant that the team made it in spirit but if you are into that then you probably LOVE participation trophies. Finally, I don’t even know what to make of the baseball claim. Ok, you made the post season but DO NOT MENTION OMAHA IF YOU HAVEN’T BEEN THERE SINCE 2005! That’s all I ask. Ok, if they make it there then I am all for slapping the logo on there, but you must make it there first. Otherwise you just look foolish.

Again, I hate bashing a Big 12 school, but this can’t go unpunished. It’s not Twitter’s fault. Hell, it’s not the school’s fault. I am pointing at you whoever runs the Baylor Athletics Twitter account and calling that person out. Did someone from Texas A&M hack into the Baylor Athletics Twitter account? Because who else would claim false victories or moral victories like that? Nobody can beat Texas A&M when it comes to hanging fake banners, but someone from Baylor gave them a run for their money on Saturday night with this debacle.
