Texas Tech Red Raiders Advance to 2019 College World Series

For a second straight season, the Texas Tech Red Raiders are off to Omaha for the College World Series. After wining Game 1 and losing Game 2, Tech needed more drama to pick up this win in come from behind fashion.
Kurt Wilson hit a three run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to cap off a four run inning that propelled the Red Raiders to the 8-6 win and a trip to Omaha.
The eighth inning started with a Josh Jung solo home run that cut the Oklahoma State lead to 6-5. Then, two straight walks brought Wilson to the plate with two on and one out, and then Wilson went yard, putting the Red Raiders up for good in dramatic fashion.
John McMillion got the win in relief of Bryce Bonnin, with Dan Haveman getting the win in relief. Ben Leeper took the loss for the Cowboys.
With the win, Texas Tech will head to Omaha for the fourth time in program history. The 2019 College World Series begins Saturday, June 15 at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha. The Red Raiders will get either UCLA or Michigan in the opening game of the College World Series.
