Matt Rhule Says Car was Stolen From DFW Marriott

Matt Rhule

I can’t say I know anyone that this has happened to, but then again I don’t know many people who can afford a car as nice as Matt Rhule can. Regardless, the Baylor coach tweeted out Saturday night that his truck was stolen from a Dallas-Fort Worth Marriott, but that he would still be heading to Houston for a Coaching school.

Rhule started the week in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for Big 12 Media Days, where he spent a lot of time discussing how this program can take its next step. Rhule is now down in Houston for the annual Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) convention and coaching school, an event which runs from Sunday to Tuesday.

The expectations continue to rise for Rhule, who reportedly flirted again with the NFL this offseason after taking the Bears from one win in 2017 to seven wins in 2018. Last week, the HCS staff predicted Baylor to finish fifth in the Big 12 Conference this fall. Vegas also gives the Bears the fifth-best odds, at 18/1, to win the conference.

The suspect of Rhule’s stolen vehicle remains at large. If authorities ever get a lead on an individual in this theft, maybe Rhule can deploy some of his skill position players to chase the person down on foot (IF needed) since he has some of the fastest players in the Big 12 on his roster. I’m sure the guys wouldn’t mind helping out coach. Just a thought!
