Skylar Thompson, Jalen Hurts Make Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award Watch List
Two Big 12 quarterbacks have made the watch list for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, given to the nation’s top senior or fourth-year quarterback. Other notables on this list include Oregon’s Justin Herbert and Michigan’s Shea Patterson.
The Big 12 has had a handful of winners take home the Unitas Award, including most recently Oklahoma State’s Mason Rudolph in 2017. Collin Klein from Kansas State won the award in 2012, Colt McCoy took it home for Texas in 2009 and Graham Harrell of Texas Tech won the award in 2008. The first winner of the award from the Big 12 was Oklahoma’s Jason White in 2004. Last year the award was won by Washington State’s Gardner Minshew.
