Week 3 AP Poll: Oklahoma, Texas Fall, Iowa State Drops Out of Top 25

NCAA Football: Texas Christian at Baylor

The Week 3 AP Poll was released and it wasn’t great for the Big 12 Conference. Despite the Sooners starting off 2-0 and beating South Dakota 70-14 on Saturday, they dropped a spot to No. 5 in the rankings, getting bumped by LSU, who beat Texas in Austin 45-38 on Saturday.

Meantime, Texas, after its aforementioned loss, dropped from No. 9 to No. 12. Also on the Big 12 front, Iowa State, who was idle in Week 2, is officially outside the Top 25, but is the top team not ranked to receive votes. Teams who were not ranked who jumped into the Top 25 include Maryland (beat Syracuse), USC (beat Stanford) and Virginia (beat William and Mary).
