After Saturday night’s thrilling game in Austin where the Longhorns lost to LSU, Tigers head coach Ed Orgeron said in his press conference on Monday that there was no air conditioning in the visitor’s locker room before or during the game at Texas Memorial Stadium.
The temperature at game time was nearly 100 degrees, and while the intentions of UT are not known, it was reported this was also the case the week prior against Louisiana Tech. In fact, Orgeron said his guys were prepared for the lack of AC by bringing fans and other things to try and keep the locker room cool. Several Tigers players went down with cramps during the game.
After the reports came out Monday, Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte released a statement saying, “The comment today about lack of air conditioning in our visiting locker room is the first we’ve heard of any issues in that area. We provide one of the best vistor setups available and are proud of the efforts we put forth in hosting our guests. Our facilities staff did not receive any complaints from either Louisiana Tech or LSU, and we’ve confirmed that our air conditioning in the visiting locker room is in good working order.”
So, what’s next? Let’s see where this one goes. Where are those “big eye” emojis Lincoln Riley uses? Those would be a good fit right here.
