Kansas State to begin selling beer, wine at basketball games

NCAA Basketball: Kansas at Kansas State

Kansas State Wildcats basketball fans will be able to purchase beer and wine at games starting this season. They will be sold in public areas of Bramlage Coliseum during men’s and women’s basketball games, K-State announced in a news release.

Bramlage will become the third Wildcats athletic venue to sell alcohol. The school already sells beer during baseball games at Tointon Family Stadium and during soccer matches at Buser Family Park.

In a statement, AD Gene Taylor, said, “We want to continue to find ways to make the experience for our fans at our events more attractive, and we feel expanding our beer and wine sales to Bramlage for basketball games will do that.”

Taylor did add that there are currently no plans to expand alcohol sales to public areas of Bill Snyder Family Stadium during football games.

This is the opposite of KU, where there are beer sales for football games, but not at basketball games in public areas.

The trend has been a popular one in recent months and years across the Big 12, with Oklahoma adding sales to all athletic events in May.
