As we gear up for the Peach Bowl this Saturday, head coaches Lincoln Riley and Ed Orgeron held a joint press conference that seemed testy at times between two coaches ready to get to kick off at 4:00 ET/3:00 CT on Saturday in Atlanta.
Here are some of the top quotes from the press conference between the two head coaches.
“I see a really, really good offense. The quarterback is a tremendous player. I don’t see a lot of weaknesses” @LincolnRiley on the LSU offense— Brett-Ashlee Ward (@brettayw) December 27, 2019
How has Jalen improved since you last saw him?— Brett-Ashlee Ward (@brettayw) December 27, 2019
“He’s the leader of the team and they have him doing a lot more. He’s very difficult to stop and it’s a difficult scheme, especially with Ceedee Lamb. He’s a great leader” – Coach O
#LSU coach Ed Orgeron asked whether he was still with #USC for bowl rout of #Oklahoma in the 2005 Orange Bowl, or if he had left to start Ole Miss job.— Jerit Roser (@JeritRoser) December 27, 2019
"I don't want to say this boastfully," he smiles big. "But I was there. And I remember it."
Quickly points to Adrian Peterson.
“If you guys had a vote would you say a 4 team playoff is good or would you vote on 8?”— Brett-Ashlee Ward (@brettayw) December 27, 2019
“Would I say there might be a team where all of the conference champions get in? It’s hard to say no to that” – @LincolnRiley
“I like it the way it is.” – Coach O
"He's from Opelousas. I wonder how he got away."#LSU Head Coach Ed Orgeron on Oklahoma WR CeeDee Lamb.— Seth Lewis (@SethLewisInc) December 27, 2019
Lamb is a 1st team All-American, with 1,208 yards and 14 TDs in 2019.https://t.co/mfDt9FFej9 pic.twitter.com/spWwqmxIVO
Ed Orgeron talks about transfer portal. Clearly has mixed feelings about it, but says if you have a player transfer and “he can lead a team to championship” that’s a great thing.— Jeff Nowak (@Jeff_Nowak) December 27, 2019
Adds that it’s a bad thing when players just want to quit. Burrow and Hurts are both grad transfers. pic.twitter.com/pulIgXV8iD
