Matt Rhule Tied for Best Odds to be Next New York Giants Head Coach
As rumors continue to swirl around Baylor head coach Matt Rhule and speculation he may be heading for an opening in the NFL, the folks in Vegas have given official odds on where Rhule might land.
Of all the openings, Rhule is given the best odds to be the next head coach of the New York Giants.
Next New York Giants head coach announced (Per BetOnline.ag)
Matt Rhule 3/1
Mike McCarthy 3/1
Josh McDaniels 5/1
Don Martindale 8/1
Jason Garrett 8/1
Robert Saleh 9/1
Dan Campbell 10/1
Kevin Stefanski 12/1
Urban Meyer 12/1
Greg Roman 14/1
Jay Gruden 16/1
Jim Harbaugh 16/1
Lincoln Riley                20/1Â
Rhule was also given odds to be the next head coach of the Panthers and Cowboys, however the odds were not nearly as good as they were for the Giants. He was given 7/1 odds for Dallas and Carolina and was not on the board for the Cleveland Browns job after he rejected that interview in recent days.
Rhule has NFL ties after spending a season with the New York Giants and is an East Coast native, hence the strongest ties to the Giants’ opening. He’s also been on a wild ride at Baylor helping turn around the program from 1-11 his first season to 11-3 this year, which ended on Wednesday night with a loss to the Georgia Bulldogs in the Sugar Bowl.
However Rhule has been quoted recently as telling ESPN, he “plans” on coming back to Baylor.
