Texas OT Samuel Cosmi Returning for Senior Season

NCAA Football: Texas Tech at Texas

The Texas Longhorns offensive line got a big boost on Monday when offensive tackle Samuel Cosmi announced he would return for his senior season in Austin.

Cosmi made the announcement on Twitter, writing in part, “It has always been a dream for me and my family to earn my degree. I’m so excited to get back to work with my brothers and work towards a championship. Go Horns!”

Cosmi was an All-Big 12 selection this year and was named the Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year. He will return as a three-year starter with nearly 40 starts under his belt.

The Longhorns now have its most vital offensive lineman back, a rising senior quarterback in Sam Ehlinger, and a backfield that should be far deeper, healthier and more experience than it was in 2019. UT will need to replace its starting center and left guard this offseason.

But, can 2020 be the year UT lives up to the lofty expectations that will be placed on the program?
