Top 2020 Baylor Signee Jahdae Barron Flips to Texas

While we are all focused in on the 2021 class as the 2020 cycle ended a couple months ago, there is one thing you should keep in mind. Recruiting never sleeps! And sometimes that means just when you think that everything is done, another surprise happens. A surprise is exactly what the Longhorns got on Thursday afternoon as former Baylor cornerback signee Jahdae Barron flipped to Texas via Twitter.
Barron signed with the Bears back in December for the early signing period but after the coaching change in Waco, Barron was able to get out of his NLI (National Letter of Intent) and reopened his recruitment. Jahdae picked the Longhorns over several SEC schools and is ranked as a 4-star prospect (According to 247) coming out of Pflugerville, Texas.
Not to mention, Barron was the Bears topped rated recruit for their 2020 haul and since his move to Texas, the Longhorns are now jumped up a spot in the 2020 class rankings all the way up to number eight. It was key for Tom Herman to land an incredibly talented player and while the Longhorns may not need immediate help at corner, it never hurts adding a top ten player at his position.
