KU Reduces Basketball Ticket Prices Nearly 50%

NCAA Basketball: Kansas State at Kansas

With the coronavirus continuing to impact college athletics at all levels, tickets prices are starting to be impacted as well.

Last week, KU announced that head football coach Les Miles and basketball coach Bill Self would be taking a pay cut to help the athletic department through this rough time.

Now it comes out that regardless of what happens in the fall with football and in the winter with basketball, ticket prices for KU home games at Phog Allen Fieldhouse are coming at a major discount.

The change, announced by Kansas Athletics on Tuesday morning, will mark the first time since the 2008-09 season that KU has lowered the price of its season tickets. It comes with an option for fans to secure a season ticket for $475 less than the cheapest package from last season, which is down from $900 for the cheapest last season.

The cost of the top two seating tiers — the most expensive options and best seats — will remain the same, $1,650 for Tier 1 and $1,275 for Tier 2.

There were just three tiers last year and will be eight this coming season. Here is what the breakdown looks like.

2019-20 Season Ticket Prices

Tier 1 – $1,650 per ticket

Tier 2 – $1,275 per ticket

Tier 3 – $975 per ticket

2020-21 Season Ticket Prices

Tier 1 – $1,650 per ticket

Tier 2 – $1,275 per ticket

Tier 3 – $1,125 per ticket

Tier 4 – $1,000 per ticket

Tier 5 – $875 per ticket

Tier 6 – $750 per ticket

Tier 7 – $625 per ticket

Tier 8 – $500 per ticket
