Two Big 12 Quarterback Commits Make Elite 11 Finals

NCAA Football: Baylor at Texas Tech

Each year eleven of the country’s top quarterback prospects get together for a weekend in the summer to compete against one another to find out, who is the country’s best quarterback? The prestigious Elite 11 has seen quarterbacks such as Matthew Stafford, Andrew Luck, Tim Tebow and Deshaun Watson over the years. It is no secret that the Elite 11 has seen some great players as twelve of the past thirteen quarterbacks to win a Heisman trophy attended an Elite 11 finals or regional.

Being in the finals does not mean you are going to become a great quarterback but just to make it there is a complete honor. It is not easy making it to the Elite 11 as these quarterbacks must make it from their regional camps to the finals as they compete in a series of tough drills before crowning a champion.

Every year we always seem to have at least one Big 12 commit in the finals but this year we have two current Big 12 quarterback commits that made the Elite 11 finals. Texas Tech commit Behren Morton from Eastland, Texas is one of those quarterbacks. Behren is rated as a four-star quarterback by 247 Sports and they have him ranked as a top 200 player nationally. He has been committed to Tech since last October and after speaking with him several times, that will not be changing as he is an absolute lock to Texas Tech.

The second quarterback is Baylor commit is Kyron Drones out of Pearland, Texas. Kyron is rated as a three-star quarterback by 247 Sports and is a top 450 player nationally. He has been committed to Baylor since April and with current starting quarterback Charlie Brewer being a senior, Kyron could be in the mix for a starting job in 2021.

We wish these two quarterbacks the best of luck in Nashville on June 28th through July 1st as they try and become a champion.
