Texas DB Anthony Cook Enters NCAA Transfer Portal

Junior defensive back Anthony Cook has officially entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, according to Horns247.
Cook’s move comes nearly two weeks after the junior defensive back publicly tweeted that he would not play another snap for Texas.
He wrote at the time, “Due to unfortunate situations I will not be playing another snap for the University of Texas. (This) Has nothing to do with anyone or anything. Please respect my decision.”
Cook later deleted the tweet and it was believed he was upset about moving to cornerback. Cook was a four-star prospect in the 2018 recruiting class, which was loaded in the secondary for Texas, led by Caden Sterns and B.J. Foster.
Cook went to Lamar High School in Houston, Texas and was the No. 10-ranked cornerback in the Class of 2020. He also took official visits to LSU and Ohio State, while also receiving offers from Alabama, Clemson, Florida and several others.
Cook played in 11 games in 2019, including the six starts, posting 24 tackles, including one tackle for loss, a forced fumble and two pass breakups.
