Oklahoma State unveiled its 1987 throwback uniforms that the team will wear on Saturday when they take on the West Virginia Mountaineers in their Big 12 opener.

The uniforms honor Thurman Thomas and the Cowboys’ 1987 Sun Bowl victory against West Virginia. The Pokes won the game over WVU 35-33 in Thomas’ last game with the program. Thomas is being inducted as the first honoree the OSU’s new Ring of Honor on Saturday.

Thomas commented on the upcoming weekend, saying, “I want it to end with a W. That’s all I care about. That’s all I care about. To have them wear that jersey, that jersey is actually in my basement. I went down the other day to look at it, and I was like, ‘Wow, they’re going to be wearing the exact same jersey that I played my last football game in against West Virginia. That jersey right there.’ … It’s gonna be special to see it. My family and I are really looking forward to it.”
