Oklahoma Sooners Plummet in AP Poll, Longhorns, Cowboys Hold Steady

Big 12 football

The latest college football AP Poll features three Big 12 teams ranked, but a ton of movement in the Top 25.

The Oklahoma Sooners plummeted 13 spots from No. 3 to No. 16 after their stunning loss to Kansas State on Saturday when they blew a 21-point third quarter lead against the Wildcats. It was OU’s second-straight season losing to the Wildcats as heavy favorites.

The Texas Longhorns needed a miracle comeback to beat the Texas Tech Red Raiders 63-56 in overtime, and held onto their No. 9 spot in the AP Poll rankings this week.

Then it was the Oklahoma State Cowboys, comfortably beating West Virginia 27-13, who actually dropped one spot from No. 18 to No. 19 in the rankings.
