Four-Star RB Justin Johnson Jr. Commits to WVU

Illinois four-star running back Justin Johnson Jr. has committed to West Virginia.
The announcement came on Johnson’s Instagram page over the weekend.
Johnson is 5-foot-11, 190 lbs and is rated a four-star player by Rivals and three-star player by 247Sports. Both outlets also have him as a top-10 recruit from Illinois in the 2021 class.
Johnson’s top-six schools included the Mountaineers, Michigan State, Minnesota, Cal, Louisville and Washington State, plus offers from Illinois, Indiana and Purdue.
Johnson is the second big-time running back in the class, joining Jaylen Anderson, a four-star back from Ohio.
The Mountaineers can use all the help they can get at the running back position, as they ranked last in the Big 12 in rushing yards per game last year and had just 68 rushing yards against the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Saturday.
In fairness, much of this is also the fault of the offensive line, but adding this kind of talent is a good sign of things to come for Neal Brown and his coaching staff in the seasons to come in Morgantown.
According to 247Sports, WVU is now ranked fourth in the Big 12 in recruiting classes for 2021. They also ranked fourth in 2020.
