Baylor Bears

Baylor vs. Oklahoma State Moved to December 12th Due to COVID-19 Concerns

NCAA Football: Baylor at Oklahoma State

The Baylor Bears‘ game set for this Saturday, October 17th, against the Oklahoma State Cowboys, has been rescheduled for December 12th.

Stadium’s Brett McMurphy had the news first and cited Baylor’s need to suspend football operations due to positive COVID-19 tests.

The Bears announced just three days ago it was suspending football operations due to positive COVID-19 tests.

Baylor has had, by far, the biggest problem in the Big 12 with COVID-19. The season opener against Louisiana Tech was cancelled due to COVID-19 issues with Tech. Then, Baylor scheduled Houston for September 19th, and that game was postponed due to COVID-19 and contract tracing issues for the Bears.

The Bears are 1-1 on the season and had were coming off a bye week. Prior to that had suffered a loss to the West Virginia Mountaineers.

So Baylor’s next game will come on Saturday, October 24th, on the road against the Texas Longhorns. Meantime, the Oklahoma State Cowboys have two weeks off before a huge showdown with the Iowa State Cyclones in Stillwater on October 24th.

Also of note, we now know the Big 12 Championship Game will be on December 19th. It was set for either December 12th or the 19th, with the 12th an open date for make-up games caused by COVID-19 delays. That date is now going to be used, so the Big 12 Title will take place at AT&T Stadium on December 19th.
